Today, Wed. the 21st, we got our application for Violet’s passport and completed her medical exam. The appointments mostly consisted, on our part, of waiting while Kathy, our guide/translator/helper ran around getting done what was necessary. She just tells us each day to go in there and give them this and we do it. What a wonderful thing!
Violet seems to be the happiest and most playful in the afternoon. Today we played peekaboo. I held a hand towel over my own face and then over hers and then she did it hiding her own face over and over. I got tired of hearing my own excited “peekaboo” but she seemed pleased each time so we continued on over and over. Then she played on the floor with some bowls, an empty coke box and some full water bottles. I love how easily babies can be entertained.
Today she also stood up without holding onto anything and balanced for a few second before plunking down. Yay, Violet!
Tomorrow we head to her orphanage. It is 3 hours there and 3 back and we’ll drive around her city and also visit in the orphanage. It’ll be a full day!

I need a Guide/Translator/Helper!
Looking forward to reading about the road trip next.
That is so great that you will get to watch her explore her little world and even get to witness her first steps! I too love how they can be entertained with the simply things in life. Enjoy the time one on one with Miss Violet. Soon it will be a peek-a-boo game with three!
