Today (3/20) Violet took a 3 hour nap and only woke up b/c the phone rang - sleepy girl. After that, we played and she learned to throw things – she was just putting things over her shoulder yesterday and holding them there – not releasing. But today she learned what happens when you release things – they go flying

Today she also learned how to clap! Oh, those cute little chubby hands smacking together and the little sound of joy she makes just makes me laugh. So cute.

She was laughing when Ken was tickling her and putting her high up in the air. It is nice to see a less serious side of her today. I know as she gets more comfortable with us and is in less shock she’ll become even more of a happy girl.

So, we learned that when she is tired she screams when her diaper is changed and when you don’t hold her while standing up. Other times she is fine with a diaper change and happy to sit on the bed, crawl on the floor, sit in our laps, etc. But she is very serious about what she wants when she is tired! She has a part in her hair that ends at two points on the top of her head. Our guide/translator said the Chinese say that means she’ll be smart but very stubborn.
